Jean Phillippe Loys de Chéseaux

De Chéseaux found 8 NGC-objects; 6 were new. He also discovered 2 NGC-objects: the open clusters IC 4665 and IC 4725. All but NGC 6633 and IC 4665 are included in the Messier catalogue. Bigourdan was the first to publish de Chéseaux' list of nebulae: Bigourdan, G., Observations de Nebuleuses et d'Amas Stellaires (Introduction), Annales de l'Observatoire de Paris, Vol. 36 (Observations 1884), G1-G40.
