Nils Christoffer Duner

 

Duner discovered one NGC object: the galaxy NGC 2273 in Lynx. He found it in 1867 Sept. 15 with the new erected 9.6" Merz refractor at Lund Observatory. It ispublished in AN [1864] 78, 251 (1971); ist was observed by Schultz, in Sept. 1872. After his work at Lund, Duner became director of Upsala observatory in 1888 (see pictures below).
