Thomas Henry Espinall Compton Espin

Obituary: MNRAS 95, 319 (1935), Obs. 58, 27 (1935)

Between 1893 and 1907 Espin found 22 IC-objects; 18 were new.Among the known ones is Max Wolf's famous Cocoon Nebula in Cygnus (Espin saw only a small part). All objects were observed visually with a 17.25" Calver reflector from his private observatory at Tow Law, Co. Durham, UK (erected 1888). Many are only star groups.
