Edmond Halley

 

Halley found 5 non-stellar objects; 2 were new: the famous globular clusters Omega Centauri and M 13 in Hercules. All observations are described in: Halley E., An Account of Several Nebulae or lucid Spots like Clouds, dately discovered among the Fixed stars by the help of the Telescope, Phil. Trans. 29, 390-392 (1716).
