Harrington found one NGC object: the galaxy NGC 7040 in Equuleus. He discovered it with the 12.5" Fitz refractor of the Univ. of Michigan Observatory (Ann Arbor, erected in 1854) on August 18, 1882; see AN 2479, New Nebula, p. 141 (1882).
