William Henry Smyth

Smyth observed known objects with his 5.9" Tully refractor at his private Bedford Observatoy. He published the results in the popular 2-volume work Cycle of Celestial Objects (London 1844). It contains data and descriptions for 94 nebulae and 69 clusters.
