Thome discovered 5 IC objects during his work for the Cordoba Durchmusterung, started in September 1885 at Cordoba Observatory, Argentina. He used a 4.9" (f/13) Clark refractor and was assisted by his wife Francis A. W. Thome. The objetcs are: IC 229 in Fornax, found in 1887, which is lost. IC 1023 is an open cluster around CD -35° 9608 in Centaurus, found in 1893. IC 1203 in Scorpius, found in 1888 and lost too. The remaining objetcs are only small star groups: IC 1207 around CD -29° 12441 in Scorpius (found 1890) and IC 1290 around CD -24° 14556 in Sagittarius (found 1887). All objects are contained in the first two CD-volumes (1892, 1894).
